Hangzhou Renshu Medical ENT specialist Dr. Shi Jiao was invited to Haiyue Suiyuan Jiashu Health Management Center to participate in a health education event organized for senior residents. Through a specialized lecture and on-site consultations, Dr. Shi provided sleep health guidance to the attendees.
Sleep Health Awareness Lecture
During the lecture, Dr. Shi Jiao delivered an easy-to-understand presentation on snoring and its treatment options, while raising awareness about sleep-related disorders. The session aimed to enhance seniors' understanding of sleep health and encourage healthier lifestyle habits.
The lecture sparked strong interest among attendees, who actively engaged with Dr. Shi by asking questions and exchanging insights.
Causes of Snoring
1.Habitual alcohol consumption or use of sleeping pills – These can worsen snoring.
2.Sleep apnea syndrome – Main symptoms include loud snoring, breathing pauses during sleep, and daytime drowsiness.
How to Implement Preventive Interventions
Treatment methods include general measures like weight control and quitting smoking/alcohol, as well as surgical options and non-invasive ventilation.
Dr. Shi Jiao advocates early detection, intervention and treatment. For early-stage conditions not meeting surgical criteria, lifestyle modifications and TCM therapies can help. When surgical indications are present, timely surgery is recommended to maximize health benefits and improve quality of life.
