Allergic rhinitis, as one of China's major chronic inflammatory respiratory diseases, has seen a rapid increase in prevalence in recent years. As it currently cannot be completely cured, the condition significantly impacts patients' quality of life and socioeconomic status, creating substantial disease burden. It has become a challenging refractory disease in the 21st century that warrants widespread attention. This conference aimed to advance research, diagnosis and treatment standards for allergic rhinitis among medical professionals, enabling more patients to benefit from immunotherapy.
Conference Chair Professor Zhang Luo stated that clinical evidence over years has demonstrated the promising prospects of standardized allergen immunotherapy, with its long-term efficacy being well established. China's immunotherapy technology has reached international standards, particularly during the pandemic when China's prevention and treatment approaches for allergic rhinitis earned praise from global experts. However, currently only 5% of patients nationwide receive immunotherapy, making the promotion of allergic rhinitis immunotherapy an urgent priority.
Following the conference, Director Chen Guangqiang exchanged views with colleagues, stating that allergic rhinitis is a chronic disease particularly critical in pediatric patients, where regular follow-ups and chronic disease management are essential. Renshu Medical implements a "3-to-1" specialized service model, extending medical care from clinical settings into patients' daily lives through systematic follow-ups and comprehensive health monitoring - an approach that plays a vital role in allergic rhinitis treatment.
Director Chen is a mid-career ENT specialist with nearly 10 years of experience in tertiary hospitals, having previously taught otolaryngology at medical colleges. His clinical expertise includes diagnosis and minimally invasive surgical treatment of pediatric allergic rhinitis, sleep apnea, vocal cord disorders, and hearing impairment.
