With 40 years of clinical experience, he is one of the earliest experts in China to perform minimally invasive knee arthroscopy for joint diseases. His work in joint disease diagnosis/treatment and artificial joint replacement has reached nationally leading levels. His series research on osteoarthritis etiology and sequential treatment won the Third Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Pioneered simultaneous bilateral hip/knee replacement, severe deformity joint reconstruction, complex deformity hip/knee replacement, and artificial shoulder/elbow replacement in Guangdong Province. Achieved excellent clinical outcomes in hip resurfacing for femoral head necrosis and artificial joint treatment for adult developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).

Recent research focuses on stepped treatment of osteoarthritis and its pathogenesis. Led over 20 research projects including National 863 Program, National Natural Science Foundation projects, international cooperation funds, and provincial/municipal projects. Participated in the national key R&D program "Demonstration of Early Identification, Intervention and Comprehensive Service Technologies for Geriatric Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine". Holds more than 10 national invention patents and utility model patents. Published over 100 papers in core journals (including 50+ SCI papers) and edited 10+ textbooks and monographs.

Professional Expertise: Diagnosis/treatment of joint diseases including osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, femoral head necrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis; artificial joint replacement for shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle joints; specialized in complex/severe deformity joint replacement and revision surgery; correction and functional reconstruction of limb deformities and mobility disorders caused by developmental/pathological factors; treatment of complex periarticular fractures; meniscus and cartilage injuries; minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment for ligament injuries around shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle joints.
